Whitney Elizabeth Houston was born into a musical family on August 9th, 1963 in Newark New Jersey the daughter of gospel superstar Cissy Houston (nee Emily Lee Drinkard) and John Russell Houston Jr. as well as a cousin of the singing sensation Dionne Warwick. As a young girl, Houston started singing professionally with her church's choir. Houston sang the backing vocals for Chaka Khosn's single from 1978 Im Every Woman with her mom. In the year 1981, she did a stint as a fashion model and also appeared on the Seventeen Cover. She also provided the backing vocals for Lou Rawls and Jermaine. The singer was first a featured vocalist for the The New York-based New York Funk band Material. The quality of her vocal performance attracted the attention of big record labels like Arista where she signed up in 1983. Whitney Houston, her debut album released in 1985, was the highest-selling album for the debut artist. The album contained several hit songs such as How Will I Know You Give Good Love, Saving All My Love For you and The Most Beautiful Love of All. It allowed her to achieve seven US charts-topping singles in a row, a feat that was more than the Beatles. The album was released in 1987 and has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide. The album that followed it in 1987 Whitney which included the hits What Do Broken Hearts Go and I Wanna Dance With Somebody built on her success but it was 1992's film The Bodyguard (1992) that established her as one of the best-selling artists in history. Although the film and the actor's performance weren't highly praised, the soundtrack album with her version of Dolly Parton's I Will Always Love You was her most popular single and album for several months. The album sold over 44 million copies around the world. The daughter of her mother Bobbi was born the month of March in 1993. This was the year after she wed Bobby Brown. Her drug addiction began in the middle of 1993 and at the time of her death in 1996, she'd been a frequent user.
Dana Bash or Dana Ruth Schwartz as she is more well-known as an American anchorwoman reporter who also serves as CNN's political anchorwoman and political correspondent. Her past work includes NBC, CBS and other prominent channels. Her productions include certain shows on CNN's weekends including Evans & Novak Late Edition as well as Inside Politics.
